Her father played the guitar and piano, and loved to sing.  Two of her sisters went on to become piano teachers, and the others play guitar and sing.

Mrs. Ward studied piano from age 5 all the way through 12th grade with Mrs.Barbara Cockerham, a private piano teacher in Pineville, Louisiana.  During this time, she participated and excelled in many local and state piano competitions and state music theory testing.

When she graduated high-school, she accepted both a music and academic scholarship to continue her studies at Louisiana College. She chose to major in Piano Pedagogy and continued lessons with Mrs.Mary Crump.

As part of her Piano Pedagogy courses, she began teaching free piano lessons supervised by her professor and teacher.  She realized that she had a passion for teaching children and sharing the gift of music, and has been teaching ever since.

Mrs.Ward made Texas her home in 2002, and established her Studio in the Conroe/Woodlands area.

Teaching Philosophy

Mrs. Piper Ward's musical journey began at a very early age.  The middle child of 5 girls, she comes from a very musical family.  When she was a toddler, her older sisters were taking piano lessons, and she counted the days until she could have a lesson of her own.
